Over the past four years, Impact China has attracted hundreds of your colleagues and clients.  The ability to attract such a dynamic audience is due to unparalleled sessions lead by influential industry thought leaders and facilitated introductions between Western and Eastern pharmaceutical industry executives.  Reserve your place early to ensure your seat among the industry’s elite.

Impact China IV is proud to announce a new addition to the 2008 program. Please join us for the newly added pre-conference workshop on May 4 at 3pm.
Ethics in Chinese Clinical Trials: A Roadmap for Sponsors and Researchers
This workshop presents a roadmap for effectively designing, conducting and registering clinical trials in China according to the highest ethical standards. A general overview of the ethical considerations in designing clinical trial protocols and submissions provides a general framework for understanding ethical review and informed consent in China. The workshop is designed to provide insight into how ethics committees function in China, and how to prepare successful applications to ethics committees alongside the application for clinical trial approval to the State Food & Drug Administration. It compares ethical review procedures in China with IRB-ERB review in the United States and Canada and ethics committee review in Europe. The workshop also gives some focus on informed consent procedures and form development for China, highlighting specific cultural and regional considerations.

Take away knowledge from this workshop includes:

  • The general GCP and national guidelines affecting ethics and ethical review in China
  • How to approach and submit successful applications to ethics committees in China
  • Specific considerations on informed consent in China, process and forms
  • The relationship between the ethics committees in China and the State Food & Drug Administration
  • Ethical expertise in China: Where is it? and How to utilize it?
  • Ethical considerations when preparing clinical trial protocols for China

Speakers:
Professor Yali Cong, Medical Ethics Program, Peking University Health Science Center, Forum for Ethical Review Committees in China (FERCIC)

Dr. Haitao (Heidi) Liu, Medical Officer, Forum for Ethical Review Committees in Asia & the Western Pacific, (FERCAP)
