Conference Overview |
 |
As a result of the Subprime Mortgage Meltdown, Investors have cast a suspicious eye on Structured Finance, which has resulted in Severe Repercussions in the CDO/ABS Markets, and to a lesser extent, Asset Backed Commercial Paper. From a highpoint of $1.4 Trillion in ABCP outstanding in March 2007, the current level has dropped to roughly $825 billion at year end, a decline in the order of 30%.
Liquidity Backstop Banks have had their lines drawn with resulting pricing consequences for ABCP originators/sellers, bank capital allocations, sponsor profitability and future business generation. SIVS have been liquidated, supported by cash injections and restructured. Market Value structures are in jeopardy.
Join the usual stellar lineup of ABCP market leaders to deliberate the future direction of the market and its current challenges. Sessions currently planned include the following:
- State of the ABCP Market After the ABS/Structured Finance Market Liquidity Storm
- Legal Ramifications in ABCP of the Subprime-Induced Crunch
- After the Smoke Clears: Examining What’s Left of SIVS
- Differentiation in the ABCP Market: How are Various Issuers Faring?
- Basel II: Assessing Market Regulation in a Changed Financial Environment
- ABCP Investor Forum: Reassessing the Universe of ABCP
- ABCP European Roundup Report
- Firing Line: ABCP Market Leaders Take Delegate Questions on the Market
- Extendible ABCP: Dead in the Water?
- A New Look at ABCP Credit, Liquidity, and Event Risk for Investors, Sponsors, -Guarantors and Sellers
- Traders’ Forum: Trading and Placing ABCP Paper – A Review of Issues and Strategies
- What Needs to be Fixed to Return ABCP to $1 Trillion Plus?
- Latest Structuring Developments in ABCP Dictated by Hard Times
